AN  ESSAY ON SOLITUDE AND CONNECTIONS

“Serpentine”, “As Different Velocidades Da Passagem Do Tempo” and “Quietly Leaving” are the first three songs from the third album by Fernando Peters, musician, composer, arranger and producer, who has worked for over thirty years on the Brazilian scene in numerous recordings and tours by absolutely diverse artists in rock, jazz, brazilian and experimental music.

Here, alongside drummer Júlio Falavigna and pianist Leonardo Bittencourt, the bassist assumes the texture of the piano trio, a estabilished format in jazz, but uses this sound to present compositions and structures that perhaps are more reminiscent of popular music (Jobim, Piazzolla, Elton John and South America tangos and milongas) and to classical composers who reinterpreted their roots (such as Erik Satie or Heitor Villa-Lobos).

AS LONG AS WE'RE POURING OUR HEARTS OUT, LET THERE BE SOME ATTEMPT OF BEAUTY IN OUR SADNESS is an essay on solitude and connections, represented in the melancholic character of the melodies, but also in the noises, the crescendos, the odd tempos and polyrhythms sewn live by the band . The album will be released in the first half of 2024.

The album is recorded by FABIO MENTZ, at LABORATORIO ACÚSTICO, in Porto Alegre (BRA).
